The Truth Is That Death Comes

As the news of Leonard Cohen’s passing washed over, familiar feelings came with it. The truth is that death comes. He passes away a few months after his muse Marianne and a few weeks after the release of his latest album. Shades of Bowie almost. We should be so lucky.

What a life.

That’s my take away, to live, to cram as much as possible into this existence and not to loose sleep and get ulcers over things unremembered a few months down the road, never mind on your deathbed. Take risks, get messy. Go. We all need more stories, more adventures.

I heard there was a secret chord, that Leonard played and it pleased the Lord…

Safe travels Mister Cohen.

  1. Because I could not stop for Death,
    He kindly stopped for me;
    The carriage held but just ourselves
    And Immortality.

    My favourite poem has washed over me today. A sad day, but one that broke with such beauty. God damn, I am such an emo!
